1) If you are purchasing a business that is two (2) years old or less, you
will need a business plan.
2) If you are applying for a small business line of credit and are a new
business owner, (within two years), you will need a business plan.
3) Landlords will sometime ask for or require a copy of your business plan
before they will rent out a space to you, to a) ensure that you can afford
the rent; and b) that you are not conducting any illegal activities on the
premises.
4) If you starting your own business, you will definitely be required to
supply a business plan at some point in the future.
5) A well established business may want a business plan to assist them in
setting new goals for their company for the future to aid in increasing
revenues and profits.
6) If you are planing on purchasing a franchise, the lendor/franchisor may
require a business plan from you.
